Medieval Chamber - Morning Glory Arch Rappel

Tucked away just minutes from Moab, the Medieval Chamber is a hidden gem that has become a staple in the canyoneering community. This stunning canyon offers a unique blend of adventure and serenity, making it an ideal choice for those looking to fill a half day with an unforgettable experience. The adventure begins with a 1.5 mile hike from Sand Flats to the canyon's rim. As you make your way down into the canyon, you'll encounter two rappels, including the iconic final rappel off the majestic Morning Glory Arch.
The hike down into the canyon is approximately 1.25 miles and is relatively easy, with some rocky and sandy terrain. The first rappel is over 100 feet to the skinnier section of canyon below. A short walk down this cool canyon, you'll encounter the second and final rappel, which will give an incredible experience of rappelling through the Morning Glory Arch.
Once on the main canyon floor, you'll be greeted by the sound of trickling water and the sight of lush riparian vegetation. The spring that flows from the base of the arch creates a beautiful oasis, complete with a small stream and surrounding vegetation that continues all the way to the Colorado River.
There are a few options to get back to the car, but it typically requires a 3 mile hike back on top of the canyon rim. Other options for hiking back include hiking down Grandstaff Canyon for approximately 2 miles to the Highway, which includes lots of water and scenic riparian vegetation.
