Parriot Mesa

While not a traditional rock climbing route, this adventure is perfect for experienced hikers who are not afraid of heights or those climbers wanting a less intense route to the top of the mesa. Comprising 95% hiking and 5% scrambling/rock climbing, this unique adventure will take you on an epic journey through the unique cliff bands of Parriott Mesa. Embark on this thrilling adventure that begins near Castleton Tower and winds its way through the Moenkopi, Kayenta, and Wingate geologic layers, each with its own fascinating geological story to tell. As you make your way through the hike, you'll encounter some small cliff bands that require you to navigate using scrambling techniques or handlines. Once you've reached the summit of Parriott Mesa, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Castle Valley and the majestic La Sal Mountains. Take in the stunning panorama from this "island in the sky" and soak up the tranquil atmosphere.
